She was a sports reporter for some of the largest outlets in the United States. It was a long time writing about sports for The Washington Post, including football, tennis, and basketball. Nichols was awarded two Emmy Awards during her nine-year period at ESPN as well as being featured on many of the network's most popular shows like NFL Countdown or SportsCenter, moved to ESPN following the year 2004. She was also one of the networks' Monday Night Football broadcasts as a sideline reporter. The next step was CNN and Turner Sports. Unguarded The show - Rachel Nichols - was her debut self-titled series, and aired each week for a week on CNN International. More than a billion people watched the show across the globe. Nichols was also a reporter for TNT in NBA broadcasts during the playoffs and broadcasts for the All-Star game. In addition to the reporting on TBS, she also covered baseball and golf broadcasts and Final Four on CBS. It was only the 2nd time in the company's 42 years that a women had been selected from more than 200 nominations.
