
Kate Hudson is an accomplished actor, most famous for her role as Penny Lane in the Hollywood movie Almost Famous which has earned her an Academy Award nomination. Born into a film-related family, Hudson seemed destined to become a star at an early age. Her mother Goldie Hawn was a film actor and her father Bill Hudson is comedian. She loved performing from an early age and would jump at any chance to perform on stage. She was taught dancing by her parents. She also took ballet lessons at the Santa Monica Playhouse when she was a kid. She began acting when she was offered a guest role on the TV drama Party of Five in 1996. As she was admitted to New York University by Kate Hudson, her goal was to pursue a career in the show business and not get an academic degree. After a few minor roles in films in the past, she was offered a role that would eventually become a major in her career. She was selected to play Penny Lane in the comedy drama film Almost Famous. The film didn't do very well in terms of box office revenue, but it received positive review from critics. It established Kate as an actor in the American film industry.
