Carrie-Anne Moss

CarrieCarrie-Anne Moss was born August 21, 1967 and is a Canadian actor. In the early days of her television career was her breakthrough role, she gained acclaim for her role in The Matrix series (1999 to present). Memento (2000) won her the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male, Red Planet (2000), Chocolat (2000) and Fido (2006). Snow Cake (2006) won her the Genie Award as Best Performance by an Actress In a Supporting Role. In addition, she played Jeri Hogarth in a variety of television shows that were produced by Marvel Television for Netflix, including Jessica Jones (2015-2019). Moss, who was living in Spain at the time, was given the role of Tara Marshall who served as the clerk to the Judge Nicholas Marshall, in Dark Justice. It was her first time on TV. She moved from Barcelona to Los Angeles with the series in 1992. Moss was forced to leave Dark Justice after the third and last season. Elisa Heinsohn replaced her as Samantha "Sam". After her return, she enrolled in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts Pasadena. In Pasadena she worked as an actress, and later, she starred in the Fox soap opera Models Inc. The show was ended July 1, 1995. Matrix was a produced in Canada series in which featured her as the lead actress, was cancelled in July 1995. Through the 1990s she appeared in various television shows, including Street Justice and Baywatch. She also appeared in F/X: The Series and Due South. Due South received her a nomination for the Gemini Award for Best Guest Actress in a Drama. Many of her film roles in the decade were in B films, such as Flashfire (1994), The Soft Kill (1994), Tough Guy (1994), Lethal Tender (1996), Sabotage (1996) and The Secret Life of Algernon (1997).
