
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as a striker. She is also captain of the San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the top division in professional soccer for women. From 2018 to 2020, she co-captained the women's national soccer team of America with Megan Rapinoe. [8][9] Morgan was selected number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she was able to graduate early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut at the club and was instrumental in helping the team win the league title. Morgan was 22 years old at the time, and was the youngest player in the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. In the 123rd minute of the semi-final match against Canada at the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. She ended 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman who scored both 20 and 20 goals. She was the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to achieve 20 goals in one season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan has also played a role in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, where she was named to the Dream Team for both tournaments as well as winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
